It was a wacky, wacky, Wednesday here at DaySpring..
We started our day with our breakfast, worship, prayers, and then morning program. We played a game called “Come Over the Mountain” where we learned a lot about the experiences of each other.
Fr. Michael spoke with us and then in our Ohana groups we looked at reflection cards and tried to use them to answer certain questions about ourselves.
Then it was time for focus groups!!!
The arts focus group is really coming along with their projects, they’re working so hard and getting to experience so many different forms of art and prayer and see how they all connect in our spiritual lives.
In the sports group the junior counselors led some games with the campers, they played ultimate frisbee as well as some other games 🙂
The outdoor focus group spent some time up in the canopy walk and then took a turn on the waterslide!
After lunch and siesta it was time for Camper’s Choice and there were lots of fun activities going on for that! Campers were able to choose from activities such as nail art, boot camp, rock n’talk, Gaga Pit, friendship bracelets, board games, canopy walk, and Javelina Hunting!!
During camper free time we did our annual pudding toss, and it was a messy one!
Wednesday night means Wacky Wednesday dinner and then we had our talent show! There are so many talented campers with us this week!!!
After the talent show the campers went back to their cabins to prepare for the evening program. While they were gone the junior counselors set up prayer stations. This was such a moving, emotional, and spiritual part of the day. Again, we know that they may be some high school campers reading this and we don’t want to spoil too much for them next week, but I’ll explain more about the stations then if you want to keep following our blog 🙂
It was a great way to bring together all the things we have been learning about, talking about, and thinking about this week.
Please remember that if you want to email your camper we can’t guarantee that they will receive it after 12pm on Thursday (the day of this post!!) Please include their name in the subject line and send your email to campbunknotes@gmail.com
Our camper’s are off and running for a fantastic last full day at camp!
