We here at DaySpring Summer Camp are proud to announce our theme for the upcoming weeks โ The Hobbit! We, like Bilbo, are going to learn more about the journeys that others have taken before us, and we hope that this will give us some insight and reassurance into our own personal journeys and how they might connect with others.
We are so happy to have 23 wonderful, happy, healthy, enthusiastic high school campers here with us! We kicked things off with our โmustacheโ rules (see the previous post for pictures..) and dinner. Then we started off our journey with a blind obstacle course. Here we learned that while many voices may call out to us and try to tell us where to head, there is only one true voice that we should be listening to.
After all of this, we broke up into our family groups (The A Team, and the Bilbos) and got to know each other better with some introductions.
We ended our first night with evening worship around the campfire. We sang some beautiful songs, and had a great time. Hopefully there will be a few less bugs tomorrow, but hey, its camp!!
Update on Monday’s activities coming soon!
Don’t forget that you can email your campers or anyone else at camp by sending an email to campbunknotes@gmail.com. Please use the campers name as the subject line, and emails will be distributed every day before siesta! (After lunch.)
