Our DaySpring summer camp counselors have been working hard for the past two days to prepare for the upcoming weeks, here is a small peek into some of the preparations 🙂
We started off on Friday with unloading supplies, meeting and greeting each other, and saying hi to some old faces. We quickly got going on things like practicing, playing, and sharing games, as well as energizers, prayers, and learning about our campers.
On Saturday morning, we participated in some team building challenges on the low ropes course. This was an essential and well received part of our counselor training because it allowed us to learn new things about each other, build trust, and strengthen our communication skills.
And as you can tell from the pictures, we had a great time!
While some of us came into this experience knowing each other, we are all getting to know each other as a group, and it is safe to say that we have bonded quickly over the last two days! Lots of laughter and lots of personal sharing of our different experiences.
We ended our evening with Compline (inside because of the rain, but we won’t let that keep us down!) We shared our own personal hopes for the coming weeks and prayed for each of our high school campers by name.
Your 2014 DaySpring Summer Camp counselors are filled with excitement and anticipation at the coming weeks and look forward to greeting all of our high school campers in less than 24 hours!!!
