Here we are! What an awesome, awesome day it has been! We are blessed with 28 beautiful elementary school campers this week!!!
Here are some pictures of our first evening together 🙂 We did some get to know you games, went to dinner, went on a scavenger hunt to learn all the rules of DaySpring, played some more games, and ended the evening with a great time by the fire. (Don’t miss that rainbow in the sky!!!)
Tonight around the campfire Fr. Mike, our chaplain for the week asked the campers to share about their worries and also the things they are excited about. Here are some of the things they shared 🙂
Worries:
“I was worried I would forget my sleeping bag.” Jack
“Get homesick” Bella
“I didn’t know if I was going to come but I decided that I wanted to come and that made me feel better.” Andrew
“That my mom and dad wouldn’t bring enough clothes.” Grace
“That I wouldn’t bring my pillow, but I did.” Gavin
“I am worried because I have never been away from home for a week.” Ryan
Excitements:
“To kayak.” Hunter
“Moving into the cabin.” Emma
“About everything!” Isabella
“About the bunk beds.” Reese
“About sleeping in bunk beds.” Catherine
“About summer olympics.” Jeanette
“Everything and the bunk beds.” Gavin
After this Fr. Mike shared with the campers that God is also very excited for this week, but he is not worried at all about any of it! So we don’t need to worry either.
Lights are out in all cabins with campers sleeping soundly! Catch up with you tomorrow! Kicking camp off with archery and the water slide!!!!!
Remember you can email your camper by sending an email to campbunknotes@gmail.com. Be sure to use your child’s name as the subject line of the email!! We will continue to pass out emails until Thursday afternoon!!!
