2018 Leadership Camp – Day 2

Written by:

It was a fantastic first full day of Leadership Camp! This morning after breakfast, morning energizers, and worship we went out and spent a few hours on the high ropes course. It was really great and the campers accomplished a lot of difficult challenges. Many of our campers tried the “leap of faith” where they climb a single pole and jump off the top of it to try to catch a trapeze that is connected to a couple of trees.

After high ropes it was time for lunch and siesta and then for our afternoon activity the campers all headed out to the waterfront for some canoe time! It was a bright, warm, and sunny day! We were able to cool off in the swimming pool after that!

Then it was time for dinner, and Chaplain’s Program following that. For Chaplain’s Program we talked about the difference between leaders and leadership qualities. One of our counselors, MacKenzie, talked about our own individual visions of leadership in our personal lives and how that can impact how we are as leaders. As we met in Ohana Groups, each group read different stories from the Bible and then came back together to share how our groups reflected on the leadership qualities in these people.

For our Counselor’s Program we went out to the back field area and played capture the flag until it got too dark to see! It was great fun, and was rounded out with Compline in the air conditioning before heading off to our cabins for the night.
