2018 High School Camp – Day 4

Written by:

Another amazing day at High School Camp 2018!!! After our usual morning routines, we swapped activities from yesterday – low ropes and waterfront. Today waterfront played a game of Battleship! It was so fun to see all of the canoes all over the cove! We were able to make it to the pool for a bit before lunch too!

After lunch, we had siesta and Camper’s Choice. Today Camper’s Choice had activities like tree climbing, archery, boom ball, and painting. Tomorrow is our last full day so it’s our last day of Camper’s Choice and its definitely going to be a good one! We were also able to get back into the pool for just a little bit before dinner, the lightning did get a little too close (but no rain again!) so we had to get out earlier than planned.

Then it was time for dinner and Chaplain’s Program. Tonight we had Chaplain’s Program in St. Thomas Chapel. Fr. Christian taught us about Evening Prayer and Jowee gave a talk about loving ourselves and finding and appreciating all that life gives us. When we finished Evening Prayer it was time to head back to the Program Center where prayer stations were set up.

Prayer station night is a really special time at camp. It’s an opportunity for campers to move freely around the area using various methods to communicate and be in relationship with Jesus. Some prayer stations include “Conversations with God” where you sit across from an empty chair and simply tell God whatever you need to while picturing him in the chair across from you. Clergy and chaplains are available for individual prayer. We have a confession prayer station at the fire where you can write your confessions down and give them up to God by throwing them into the fire.

Everyone is in their cabins now getting ready for lights out, tomorrow is a busy day with Camp Olympics, so lots to get ready for that!

One more day to email your camper at campbunknotes@gmail.com. Anything sent after 12pm tomorrow is not guaranteed delivery.

Join us for our Closing Eucharist at 11am in the Program Center. Camper pick up begins at 12pm.
