2018 High School Camp – Day 2

Written by:

Our first FULL day! Full speed ahead, we are leaving no activity unturned! We kicked off our morning with breakfast, energizers, and a brief morning worship before heading out to spend a few hours on the high ropes course. High School is really neat because many of our campers are tall enough (and strong enough) to reach the trapeze on the Leap of Faith element! It was really neat to see everyone out supporting each other, challenging themselves, and having fun!

Then it was time for lunch and siesta. After we had some rest, we were ready for Camper’s Choice which had different activities like waterfront, Tree Climbing, games outside, and a spa day inside. Campers were all over the place, it was fantastic! We were able to open the pool for the last hour or so before heading back to our cabins to get ready for dinner and our Hootenanny!

For Chaplain’s Program, we talked more about what Living Water means and learned about (and then practiced) contemplative prayer. It was a really peaceful experience and it was cool to think about different ways to put this into practice in our daily lives. Just the simple act of centering ourselves, and how to use it in decision making and other areas of life.

And then…it was time for one of the most anticipated events of camp each summer, our HOOTENANNY with Barney!!! There was dancing, singing, laughing, drumming, and tons and tons of FUN! (Don’t miss the pictures, they really only tell part of the story!)

Everyone is back in their cabins now to rest up for all of the events that tomorrow will bring!

Don’t forget to write your camper a little note at campbunknotes@gmail.com.

Come hang out with us on Friday for our Closing Eucharist at 11am in the Program Center.
